KEEPING THE KITCHEN SPARKLING CLEAN
KEEPING THE KITCHEN SPARKLING CLEAN
AVOID INFLAMMABLE NAPKINS
Being utility items of daily use, these should not be fancy ones with lace, fabric paint or mirror work. Nylon and polyester napkins should be avoided as these are inflammable and are not water absorbent.
Paper napkins have to be discarded after one use. Others should be washed with soap every day, separately and not along with the other clothes. Greasy napkins need to be soaked in hot, soapy water and rubbed with a brush before being washed under the running tap. After they are washed the napkins should be dried properly in the sun.
Washing kitchen napkins hardly takes 10 minutes, but clean napkins give a good impression of the home-maker. They are also essential for health.
To keep the kitchen sparkling clean, it is necessary to sweep, mop and scrub the floor and the working platform 2-3 times daily, using a drop of disinfectant. The broom, brush and cloth used for the purpose should be washed and dried before being used again.
