An absorbing hobby like singing, listening to music, dancing, painting, reading etc keeps the child busy and also provides an outlet for the excessive energy and strong emoÂtions.
Secondly, every parent has to remember that a teenager is very much in need of love and care at home. There should be open friendship between the parents and their adolesÂcent children.
This keeps the adolescent emotionally strong and prevents him or her from falling in love unwisely.
An adolescent moving freely with several boys and girls does not get easily infatuated. So parents have to encourage a child to develop social contacts.
One important point is that a teenager should have enough freedom regarding the choice of an educational course and also of career. If he or she selects the subjects according to his or her liking, the teenager can enjoy studies and concentrate better on the subjects.
A lovelorn adolescent has to be tackled with love and sympathy. He or she has to be brought back to normalcy in a gentle, loving manner.
Immature, insensible love affairs can only cause unnecessary worry and tension to an adolescent. So, every effort must be made to avoid this pitfall.
