SHOULD YOU GO ABROAD ON A PACKAGE TOUR?

In this kind of group travel, an Indian tour guide will join you on behalf of the tour company and he will travel with you throughout the tour to ensure that arrangements are smoothly done.
The advantages of travel with a Tour group are many. Some of them are as follows:
It starts even before you begin your tour. The tour operating firm selected by you explains the package in details to you and in some cases
even allows you to join in between or leave off earlier on a tour. They also arrange for visas to most countries; except for countries like the UK and the USA where personal interviews are a must. Even for getting a UK and USA tourist visa, the fact that you are going with a tour group can make your visa case a bit easier sometimes.
 TOUR OPERATORS
You don’t have to worry about your tour planning. The tour operator already preplans this and he generally follows common sense borne out of so many tours on the same circuit. You can generally trust them to show you a large number of countries or places in a relatively short time.
The maximum benefit is in hotel booking. Imagine having to book and negotiate 10 different hotels in a 15-day tour! Whereas with a tour group, the tour guide simply hands you the key when you reach the hotel. You don’t even have to check in or check out in the hotel register.Similarly, you don’t have to worry ^ about finding the bus or train terminals or whether you have boarded the right train or bus. This is particularly important in a country where signboards and the spoken language are in a foreign language that is not known to you.
Another important advantage is food — particularly for Indian tourists. While it does not matter much to those Indians who eat all kinds of meats, such Indians are not very many in number!
Hindus, for instance, will not ^ touch beef and many are not comfortable with pork either. Vegetarians, of course, have a special problem abroad and would quickly tire of eating only assorted salads and breads for days on end if they go on their own.
It is in situations like this that these Indian tour operators really come in handy. They invariably stop by at an Indian restaurant for the evening dinner. Our tour manager used to ensure that there were, 3 different kinds of foods served on different tables
— Non-vegetarian for those who were non-vegetarians (but with mostly chicken dishes), vegetarian food for the vegetarians and specially cooked non-garlic and non-onion vegetarian food for the food fastidious Aggarwals and Jains.
FOOD SOLUTION
It is also noteworthy that Indian restaurants abroad is generally likely to be where Westerners come for a specialty dinner occasionally and thus are likely to be rather expensive if you go on your own — say compared to a fast food outlet like the omnipresent McDonalds.
While some tour operators do not provide for lunch, some others like SOTC give packaged lunches as well, In the case where the tour operators do not provide lunch, many travelers carry dry snacks along with them.
In most places abroad, dinner is served early. Thus a heavy breakfast at the hotel before leaving it, followed by a light lunch and then followed by a heavy Indian dinner is good enough for most people. operators do not provide lunch, many travelers carry dry snacks along with them.
