JUST TAKE CARE
 JUST TAKE CARE
    Â
 OLD PEOPLE SENTIMENTS
Old people also need special care. They must have been busy all their lives and suddenly having a retired lifestyle or being given less importance by their own children, can hurt. Age takes its toll and an old person suffers more at times because of tired cells and a weary mind. After a hectic life of problems, they need peace, contentment and a feeling that their loved ones care for them.
Old people should be looked after, not exploited, and allowed to do what they want to do. Often daughters-in-law expect their mothers and mothers-in-law to look after their children. Many take it as a matter of right, not thinking that they are taking their elders for granted.
An elderly woman could be suffering because of menopause, arthritis or old age ailments and will tire easily. How can young people expect them to run after agile, energetic and restless children? Young people should take care not to trouble or exploit senior people in any way.
Further, we should take care not only of people we love but even of others. Kindness and generosity are indispensable for mutual understanding. We need also to show special concern for those who are in any way sick or disabled, especially children, because they need elders help.
This should not take the form of pity that humiliates them, but should be a genuine empathy. Moreover, when people have enough, they should spare some for those poor people who are not blessed with even the basic amenities of life. Helping other people gives personal contentment too.
