- When washing lace or net curtains, add a tablespoonful of methylated spirit to the rinsing water. It gives just the right amount of stiffness.
- Candles burn longer if they are stored in the refrigerator.
- Batteries and films will remain fresh if kept in the refrigerator.
- A little coconut oil applied to the edge of each petal of a rose put in a glass of water keeps the flowers fresh.
- To help unclog a sluggish drain, boil a cup of vinegar, pour it down the drain, cover tightly for a few minutes and then flush with cold water.
- The best way to take the maximum paste from toothpaste when it is at the finishing stage is to keep it on the floor/kitchen slab/table and roll forward from bottom to top by a chapatti roller, leaving the paste tube like a thick paper. And then see the magic of getting paste for 2-3 days brushing.
- Defrosting the fridge is a wet and tedious job. You can avoid this mess by using a small rubber tube as a siphon to take out all the defrosted water from the chill tray and put it into a jug.
