AGE AND THE NEW SEXUAL REVELATION
AGE AND THE NEW SEXUAL REVELATION
For centuries, it has been a hideous cliché in our culture that older people, specially women, have no sexual impulses. If you have grown up children and grandchildren, you are embarrassed to so much as hold hands, leave alone having sex. Your bouts in bed are hurried, surreptitious and infrequent. You are relieved to have done with “all that.”
This could actually mean that you are bored with the relationship or have talked yourself to an end of a sex life at that you have consciously or unconsciously, set for yourself.
Other-libido-killers are performance anxiety, loss of desires, lack of communication, the empty nest syndrome and embarrassment about appearance. Luckily, there are more and more enlightened senior citizens who rank sex as an integral part of their lives.
American researchers find that most people can remain sexually active into their 70s and beyond, and that the warmth, excitement and comfort of sexual love is still important in these years.
