• Place soiled clothing in a basket and not leaves it wherever you happen to be for your wife to pick up and dispose of.

• Empty ashtrays of ashes and butts, instead of expecting your wife to clean it for you.

• Refrain from placing wet glasses on unprotected furniture to avoid marring the veneer.

• Switch off lights, on leaving a room so that your wife would not be annoyed by your wastefulness.

• Close doors gently, instead of slamming them or allowing them to slam.

Add more to the list if necessary, to fit your husband’s little crimes of irritation.
All good husbands may follow them quite decently. Wives may then be sure that the new policy of consideration will be noticed, and would stimulate reciprocation.
The unspoken resentments that were in the past stored up, until some small, irrelevant incident served as the fuse for an explosion, will no longer stand in the way of pleasant and peaceful coexistence.
