Choosing a crèche
Choosing a crèche
As a working mother, finding the best day-care centre for your child is vital. Here’s how to decide:
- Choose one close to your or your spouse’s workplace. You should be easily reached in case of emergencies,
- Ask friends, relatives, colleagues. Also speak to parents with children in the particular crèche you pick.
- Before finalizing, check whether it’s recognized. Insist on personally seeing the license. Is the centre spacious, with a large play area? Is it hygienic? Check the child-caretaker ratio. Is the staff qualified and trained in first-aid and emergency measures?
- Get regular feedback from your child - if she doesn’t want to return there, it could mean something is wrong with the centre.
- Drop in unannounced for a first-hand impression of the centre.
